Long time no see [subscribe to my new newsletter]
Hello and also goodbye and also read my new newsletter
Been a while, huh?
I wanted to come back to your inboxes and give you an update about where this went, what happened, why I won’t be doing it anymore, and where you can find me next. I hired a consultant (myself) to deeply consider what I would do next with this newsletter after a long hiatus. Here are the findings.
A couple months ago my consultant (again, me) started floating the idea of bringing this back. The market was demanding it (friends had asked about it) and I was feeling like the original mission statement (solving for the Sisyphean task of figuring out what’s for dinner every night until you die) still had life in it.
Then, instead of doing that, I pooled all my time and energy into writing a book. You can imagine how one project invalidated the other one. And that it fundamentally changed my priorities of how I use my free time. This book has sort of become my life since I started it in September and especially since I finished the first draft in January.
Therefore, with regret, I am officially closing the door on this newsletter. But, wait, there’s more…
The good news is I’m starting another newsletter focused on my writing and my process of revising and rewriting my book (as well as the eventual long journey to publication). In that newsletter, I will be answering the perennial question of how the book is going. The goal is for it to be something of a diary of The Journey, The Process, What-Have-You. Some other things you could perhaps expect there: insights, writing advice, history lessons, book recommendations.
You can learn more about and subscribe to “Woman Writes Book” here.
I hope you all had some fun with this newsletter, learned a few things, and got some ideas for dinner. Food remains incredibly important to me as a vehicle for not just how we nourish ourselves but how we understand each other.
Hope to see you over at the new newsletter. If not, it’s been a pleasure having you.
L’chaim, take care of each other, much love, see you soon. <3
